BISHOP RAYMOND L. BERGER

Bishop Raymond L. Berger Sr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1941. As a youth Bishop Berger grew up under the leadership of Bishop Randolph Carr and there realized that God had purpose for his life. Although Bishop had natural aspirations as a lawyer he submitted to the plan God had for his life.

Bishop Berger began his ministry at a very young age in Brooklyn, New York and was later installed as the Pastor of Rehoboth Church in 1973. While serving as a Pastor and Overseer in his now home state then Elder Berger was elevated to the Bishopric in June of 1996. Bishop is currently serving as the Presiding Prelate of the Victorious Apostolic Churches, Inc. which he founded under the Lord’s leading in November of 2004.

Bishop Berger is a friend, advisor, and spiritual father to many pastors and church leaders because of his breadth knowledge across many years of pastoral experience. Not only a gift to the Body of Christ, Bishop is often sought out to pray for the saved as well as the unsaved in the Waterbury area who have given him the name “Hood Pastor.”

Bishop’s academic accomplishments are many, including: Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Brooklyn College; Honorary Doctorate in Religious Studies June, 2022; Doctorate in Humane Letters in 2006. Bishop has also received numerous awards, proclamations, citations and commendations from the city, state, and various organizations.

Bishop’s ministry continues to thrive, flourish, and expand. His many years of sacrifice, and labors of love are far too numerous to mention.

Bishop Berger is married to Evangelist Tanzella Calloway Berger since July 1998. Bishop is the father of four children, fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

The journey continues and the legacy lives on!
